A huge hangar filled till the top with acrobatic training equipment. A Russian swing standing proudly next to a bunch of German wheels rolling all over the place. The extreme convention found birth in the enthusiastic mind of an Antwerp circus-creator named Maarten Janssens A.K.A. the PDG. He wanted to create a place where everyone could try out different acrobatic techniques. With the ‘Ell Circo D’ell Fuego ’-deadheads by his side they started the Extreme Convention three years ago, and it has evolved a hell of a lot since then. It now has a place for beginners as well as for professional acrobats who come here to meet and learn from each other. Located just off the A14 at Rougham Airfield, there will be workshops run by Teachers and Instructors of a wide variety of disciplines that all have the following concepts in common: movement, energy, awareness, relaxation, physical manipulation, and creativity. Doors will open on Thursday afternoon, with workshops running from 9am to 6pm, followed by music, dance, circus and martial arts performances, then DJing until 1am.
