5 club backcrosses

Steve Ragatz & Slammin' Andy - 4th May, 2003.

"Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated."

Flash four club back-crosses out of a four club fountain. R-L-R-L then back into the fountain. Work this until you can do two or more in succession: R-L-R-L-L-R-L-R. Keep the throws steady and don't rush. You will learn the trick sooner if you can convince yourself that it isn't "impossible". Make it easy with your posture and your attitude and you will see immediate improvement.

First of all, this is a very hard trick. Very hard. Unless you happen to be a very talented teenager it will take a lot of hard work. But maybe I'm just a slow learner.

Second of all, do what Steve recommended. That is a good exercise.

Third, if you still have problems, then break it down and just do exercises with 3 clubs. I do my 5 club back crosses with triple spins, but the exercises should still apply. To this day (yes, this very morning) I practice:
a) Long runs of 3 club, triple spin back crosses
b) Runs of 3 club triple spin back cross flashes (with a clap)
c) 3 club back crosses single spins into a 3 up back cross pirouette back into 3 club back cross w. single spins is a great looking trick and also does wonders for your back crosses in general.
d) Work on runs of 3 clubs with back crosses of different heights. I like to run 4 single spin back crosses, 4 double spin, 3 triple spin, 4 double spin, repeat ad nausea (single, double, triple, double, single, double, triple, etc).

I guess my point is just work on lot of back crosses.
