10 ball pain

Steven Ragatz - 1st January, 1990.

You need to take a serious look at how you are training this trick. Don't let your eagerness and enthusiasm cloud good judgment. Pushing the limits of numbers juggling is physically demanding and can come with a heavy price.

My advice to you is to take a BIG step back and work on getting your body in shape for such an athletic accomplishment. Since you obviously have juggling technique under your control enough to be challenging ten, then flexibility and strength are going to help you more than anything at this point. Make a concerted effort to embrace a training program that isn't just standing in the corner bashing it out. Look into weight training, cross training, relaxation and flexibility training to give you the edge to break past the numbers barrier.

If you body is telling you to stop, then I would advise you to listen to it. Is it "No pain, no gain"? or "No pain, no brain". If you are feeling pain, then something is probably wrong with your technique and repeating the movement under the stress of throwing ten will undoubtedly take a toll on your future abilities as a juggler. It's just not worth it.

Reasons Circus Sports Rule
This is why jugglers should cross train for strength. Practicing aerial circus acts like silks, trapeze, ribbon or webs gives plenty of muscle and flexibility for numbers.
